A paid International Artist Residency Opportunity for UK based Artists. This residency opportunity is in collaboration with our hosting university partner National Changhua University of Education, Changhua, Taiwan.
The resident artist will receive round-trip flights and monthly artist fees will be provided. The artists are expected to work with the university students to conduct projects, deliver workshops and talks during the residency.
SUP has a dedicated local team based near the residency site at National Changhua University of Education. Artists will receive personalised support both before and during their time at the university, ensuring a smooth and enriching experience.

National Changhua University of Education

Department of Fine Arts
The Department of Fine Arts was founded in 1993, later the Art Education Research Institute was founded in 1998. In 2006, Master of Fine Arts course was introduced.
The department takes pride in its distinguished faculty and students, utilising a small class teaching system that enhances personalised learning. It offers professional courses in themed art creation, art studies, and art education, with a focus on contemporary relevance and theoretical depth.
The curriculum integrates art, humanities, and technology, fostering a comprehensive cultural perspective and supporting both localised and international professional art education.
facilities at Department of Fine Arts NCUE
The Department of Fine Arts boasts a range of fully equipped studios and facilities, providing everything needed for a variety of creative practices. During their residency, artists will have access to these spaces to host workshops with students or create new work, offering a unique opportunity for collaboration and artistic exploration.
SUP artist resident studio & office space will be located on the 2nd floor in the recently opened Wang Jinping Activity Center. The activity centre is in close proximity to the fine art department, canteen, post office, sports ground, and swimming pool.
This sculpture studio features two distinct working zones: an indoor space and an outdoor area, catering to students interested in creating both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. Students are invited to explore and experiment with a variety of materials, including wood, stone, metal, and plaster.
The Ceramic Studio offers a diverse range of pottery classes, including wheel throwing, hand building, glaze application, and sculpture. Students have access to several electric kilns and an extensive collection of pottery tools to support their creative processes.
In this print studio, students are encouraged to explore traditional printmaking techniques such as woodcut, etching, engraving, and lithography. The studio features spacious, robust work tables that facilitate both the creative process and collaborative discussions.
The multimedia studio is equipped with everything students need to bring their creative projects to life. It includes a fully equipped editing suite, a professional green screen, and a range of high-quality software to support both recording and filming.
